Mining stuff (edited coz it has to have 10 -25 characters)

Currently in Qld there are something like 3 x as many coal mines due to open and mine for coal in the next 5 years, with a life expectancy of 30 years, many of these mines are backed by Chinese investors suggesting that their demand for coal will not diminish or at the very least, not be replaced by renewable energy (also known as a complete lack of ZOOOMPF). My questions for my fellow paranormal paranoid members are:

(a) Should we be scrambling to open more and more coal mines?

I can't remember the other good questions I had.

Wouldn' it be nice if we got royalties for all these minerals owned by us. Just like in the constitution. I bet the queen is getting paid her share. If that was the case I would probably say come and get some black coal Chairman Mao to make your woks, as long as I get paid.
But since I'm not getting my rightful 1/20 ooooooth of the royalties I say bugger off.
What shits me is that these international corporations have mining leases every damn where. For next to nothing per acre, aren't using the vast majority of the land, and its off limits to us- the actual owners of the bloody country.

And thats before you get into the usurping of land titles with this bullshit mining rights over owners rights. Its one thing having them claiming common land, but theyre really pushing the envelope when they bootscoot onto private land with a lawyer and a treasonous government backing them all the way.
The same government that is giving us ridiculous carbon tax laws for the environment while they green flag every mining outfit in creation to rape the countryside.

So, let's put aside the Queen and the 1/20th and other stuff I don't understand or want to understand, you support mining and agree it is the only thing saving our sorry skinny white asses (seeing as we managed to knock off most of the skinnny black asses) at the moment?

Let's put it this way. If you were fucking desperate enough for money to keep your sorry pathetic penis out of benji's )or Hanks or Mao's) mouth, would you have a fire sale? That's what we are doing. But maybe it's what we need to do.

Who do you think the oil in Saudi Arabia belongs to? An international mining company that took up leases 5 years ago for a few bucks an acre? Or the saudi Arabians?

Yes but many people ARE getting paid very well, and spending that pay!! I am of the opinion that because the majority of city dwellers are not involved in the mining industry, they are jealous seeing their country cousins benefit. And therefore, lobbying for a cut of the proceeds.

The utter nonsense that is spread by the media and considered reasonable to the numpty is - taking billions of dollars worthof irreplaceable wealth out of our country is justifiable because it stimulates the economy by providing jobs.

Thats as rational as robbing a bank , then getting up in court and saying I paid a getaway driver, 3 henchman, amoney launderer and a shotgun supplier. I was creating jobs for the economy. These men have families etc. where would they be without me robbing banks?

In the Kimberly every aborigine used to be sent a personal cheque for royalties from the diamond mine. Maybe they still do. And rightly so, they own the damn diamonds. And likewise Australian's own all these minerals the world seems to want.

Good point about the royalties, never thought of it that way. Have you tried that argument on any politicians, I would be interested in their rational response if they had one.

More likely they'll respond with, "Well the mining royalties the Australian people receive are given to the Government, for us to spend as we see fit for the benefit of all Australians."

I think the mining rights is a scam ...if you own or are buying the land you also own whatever is underneath the ground .

can anyone get mining rights to land ? or can the gubmint just claim its theirs for the plundering ?
Or if you have the rights already can the gubmint revoke it ?

Just thinking out aloud here . I think it would be prudent for anyone purchasing land to also get the mining rights for the block in the sale of the land .
It would be nice to see that included in the sale of any land . All done by the conveyencer at the time of sale .
