silver price
The silver price today dropped 1 cent while I had my breakfast and then rebounded a phenomenal 6 cents by lunchtime.
This emotional rollercoaster saw almost $1 wiped off my networth , only to see it regained and then some.
Discuss...
Or if that's boring any ideas on forum layout?
Im thinking keep it simple. That's mainly due to laziness

Yep, why do you have to type the name of the thread each time you post? I'm getting pretty pissed off about this and may even start my own forum.
Re: silver price
I just ignore putting that in and it seems to work.
Theres probably some way to remove it, but I'm not going to wade through all that technical info.

Re: silver price
good idea freespeech.
Manipulation means reading the charts is almost senseless long term.
What I do is try to figure who is in on the manipulation, but low key. And see what they're doing.
I like credit suisse. They're my crystal ball.
What are you up to credit suisse, I say to myself. And bingo, I'm nostrafukkingdamus

I thought you were ThefuckingPope? But I like your strategy, can you apply it to other investment houses of good repute?
Re: silver price
Sure you can.
Keep in mind , I never utilise the info because my investment strategy revolves around my need for cash or surplus of it,rather than whats likely to happen with the price of a piece of metal.
Also bear in mind I'm talking out of my arse to a certain extent. In that I spend a couple of hours of googling their shennigans and am satisfied with that research , and have no idea or interest in matters financial.
Whoever talks about what credit suisse is up to with their contracts for the following period? Probably noone.
But people wet their pants when George Soros buys a gold watch and says I better get one.

Just reading posts from this time last year
So many believers, where have they gone?
"Only 16h45 here in ZAR .. 1st. time on m-t-6am, tell me what is the time now in Australia, is it 00h46 now ??
Think its last time we will see any silver for under $50, after that dollar a day increases for atleast 2 months =)"

Re: silver price
But have a look at the prices for numi related stuff. These are holding their own and increasing. WTF? A 2011 PM Wabbit costs at least $60 to buy. 2000 and whatevers Tiggers, $70!!!!! For all those who bag numis and say "bullion is bullion" those prices are proof that when spot is flat, numis are the place to be.
Now throughout history, spot has mostly been flat, so logic suggests to be heavier into numis.

Re: silver price
We are in the apocalypse, so history is coming to an end. Those numis will be traded for something banal in my opinion , within 3 years.
Logic tells me - people are buying silver because its silver and others because theyre coin collectors.
Alot of silver buyers are buying coins, which restricts the supply and then creates numismatic value where none really exists.
If silver never fulfills its promise . these will come back onto the market. If silver does fulfill its promise then the numismatic market will be only of interest to the small minority of silver buyers.
I think my opinion here is valid, because I've gone from being wooed into investing in silver at $14 , then dismissing it until $27 and then finally getting serious at $38 when it was too late.
Or in other words, I'm the idiot the real silver investors are waiting for to jump in , in droves, to take the price to $100 or $500.
And so I know how the idiot silver investor thinks.
(May 2014 is the date I'm working on as when our gingerbreadhouse reality crumbles and the witch puts us in her cage. Jot it in your desk calender as D Day. Jesuits keep referring to this date for no apparent reason)

Re: silver price
I will repeat myself: the majority of time the spot price for silver is in the doldrums, whereas numis have increased i. Now if silver does skyrocket - and it probably won't ever because it won't be allowed to (the same with gold, it will be manipulated) then numis will be worth the same as bullion. But, in the meantime, while you wait, numis are are offering a better return.
So my advice, buy silver numis when they are close to spot (release dates) - you then have a hedge.

Im sure you're right, i was playing devils advocate.
Though i think you're dead wrong about the prospects of pot stacking
What do people do when the world falls apart?
They get unhappy and need a beer or a smoke.
Its the next boom investment

Re: silver price
how do u buy coins near spot?
Coins are a rip off in my opinion.
They charge $5 bucks or more to make them.
Imagine if it cost $5 to make a 20 cent piece
Someone in Australia should make the same silver coin, year in and year out next to spot.
Thy'd sell millions

If they were close to spot then they would not be numis. Take phillies and eagles as an example, just bullion rounds. My pick is PM lunars, used to be Pandas but I'm not sure of them anymore because of the huge mintages.

It's one reason why I'm practising baking bread with wild yeasts. Less reliance on commercial ingredients = greater independence. Once I nail that, I'll try brewing beer with wild yeasts. Probably will kill me, but if it doesn't, then if and when the zombie apocalypse arrives - I'll have two products I can offer. I will never prostitute myself - unlike Butch.
PS pot doesn't stack well. Wild yeasts do.
Re: silver price
ye i think Butch invested in a boob job as a hedge against a financial collapse.
With my wheat and your yeast, we will probably be able to take possession of everyones gold and silver coins as they starve in a few years.
